1. Overview

FoxLingo ("the App") is designed with your privacy in mind. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our language learning app.

2. Data Collection

We do not collect any personal data. FoxLingo does not require user accounts, login credentials, or any personal information to function. No data is transmitted to our servers.

3. Data Storage

• Local Storage: All learning progress, vocabulary cards, streak data, and settings are stored locally on your device using SwiftData.
• Optional iCloud Backup: If you enable iCloud Backup from the Settings screen, your learning progress is stored in your personal iCloud account. This data is encrypted by Apple and only accessible through your Apple ID. We do not receive or access this data.

4. Speech & Audio

FoxLingo uses on-device speech recognition for pronunciation practice. Audio recordings are processed locally and are never transmitted to external servers. No voice data is collected or stored beyond your device.

5. Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store: App downloads and any purchases are processed by Apple. We do not have access to your payment information.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

6. Subscriptions & Billing

FoxLingo offers an optional paid subscription called FoxLingo Pro. When you purchase a subscription, the following data is processed:

• Purchase data: Apple's App Store handles all transactions. We do not receive, store, or have access to your payment card, Apple ID password, or billing address.
• Subscription status: Your device stores a receipt from Apple confirming whether your subscription is active, in a free trial, or expired. This receipt is validated on-device only — it is never sent to our servers.
• Promotional codes: If you redeem a promotional offer code (for example via a marketing campaign URL), the redemption is processed entirely by Apple. We only receive aggregate redemption counts, not individual user-level data.

We do not track individual users across installations. Any analytics, when enabled, are limited to the aggregate metrics Apple provides in App Store Connect (downloads, retention, crashes), which are anonymized by Apple.

7. Children's Privacy

FoxLingo is suitable for learners of all ages but is not specifically directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that their child has made an in-app purchase without their consent, they may contact us to request assistance. Subscription cancellation and refund requests for minors should be made through Apple's Family Sharing management or by contacting Apple Support.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any third parties. Your data never leaves your device (except for optional iCloud Backup to your own Apple ID).

9. Data Deletion

You can delete all your data at any time by:

• Resetting progress within the App's settings.
• Deleting the App from your device.
• Disabling iCloud Backup and deleting the associated iCloud data from your Apple ID settings.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
