iPhone & iPad

Everything your flashcards need. Nothing you have to learn first.

Cardpace is a spaced repetition app for people who take studying seriously — and would rather not fight the software to do it.

Coming to the App Store

One-time purchase. No subscription, no ads, no account.

Switching over

Bring your decks. Keep your years.

Import an .apkg or .colpkg file and your cards arrive with their scheduling intact — due dates, intervals, ease, lapses and the whole review log. A five-year-old deck stays five years old instead of starting from zero.

Import is free. All of it.

Not the cards free and the history paid. The entire import, history included, costs nothing and never will. Charging to keep your own study record would be charging you for your own work.

Every package version

Old exports, new compressed ones, collection packages, media and all. Cardpace reads what Anki actually writes rather than one convenient subset of it.

And back out again

CSV export is free, permanently. Pro exports full-fidelity packages other clients read. Leaving is always one tap away — which is the only honest way to ask you to stay.

What's different

Built for the phone, not ported to it.

The most common complaint about the serious flashcard apps is not that they are ugly. It is “I have to go to the computer to do this.” Cardpace has no computer to send you to.

Deck options that are actually there

Learning steps, relearning steps, leech thresholds, burying, new-card order, maximum interval, shared presets. The screen an experienced user opens first, on the device they carry.

A search that means it

deck:, tag:, is:due, prop:ivl>21, negation, OR, parentheses, saved searches, filtered decks. Type a query, edit the results in bulk.

Modern scheduling, on by default

FSRS predicts when you are about to forget each specific card rather than applying one curve to all of them. Classic SM-2 is there for imported decks that expect it.

Rating that fits one hand

Four buttons across the bottom of the screen, each showing the interval it will give you, each reachable with a thumb. The question stays visible when the answer appears.

Pricing

Pay once. That's the whole arrangement.

€6.99 once, for Cardpace Pro

No subscription. No renewal. No ads, at any tier, ever. Family Sharing is on, so one purchase covers your household.

Pro unlocks iCloud sync, package export, cloze and type-answer authoring, audio, detailed statistics, the query language, filtered decks and the full widget family.

Free, and staying free

  • Unlimited decks and unlimited cards — no counter, no cap
  • Unlimited daily reviews
  • FSRS scheduling, the same one Pro gets
  • Importing anything, with full history
  • CSV export — your data is never held hostage
  • Basic and reverse cards, images, tags, search
  • Your streak, your daily goal, today's statistics
  • VoiceOver, Dynamic Type and high contrast — accessibility is not a paid feature

This list will not shrink in a later version. Apps in this category have a habit of quietly tightening the free tier after people have built their decks; that is a promise worth making in writing.

Privacy

We have no server, so we have nothing of yours.

There is no account to create and no analytics in the app. Your decks live on your device. Turn on iCloud sync and they go to your private iCloud storage, which we have no way to read.

Cardpace works completely offline. On a plane, on the metro, in a basement library — it behaves exactly the same.
