Every measurement has questions
A weekly assessment is a calibrated passage, timed, then six comprehension questions. No questions, no number.
SPEED READING TRAINER · IPHONE
Readglide shows one number: words per minute multiplied by your comprehension score. Raw speed is never shown on its own, anywhere in the app.
THE ONE NUMBER
A weekly assessment is a calibrated passage, timed, then six comprehension questions. No questions, no number.
Three sessions holding above 75% comprehension and the target pace rises 5%. A single result below 60% and it eases off 10%.
Agglutinative words break word-per-minute counts, so characters per minute is tracked alongside, and chunk size is character-based.
ONE SESSION
A warm-up, two drills picked from the skills you are weakest at, then a warm-down on real text.
Amber marks anything driven by time: the pacer, a filling bar, the session timer. Nothing else in the interface uses it.
EIGHT DRILLS
A highlight sweeps the text at a set pace, so your eyes stop crawling word by word.
Read lines fade and lock. The urge to re-read is counted, not indulged.
One fixation per line, with the column widening as your eye span grows.
Find numbers in order while looking at the centre. Grows from 5×5 to 7×7.
Two or three words flash in one spot, aligned on the recognition point. Capped at 900 wpm.
A word, then four meanings. Recognition should be automatic, not worked out.
Don't read — scan. Locate the sentence that answers the question and get out.
Twenty seconds to skim, then choose the summary that actually matches.
BRING YOUR OWN
Your textbook, the forty-page report, the article you keep postponing. 130 original passages in English and Turkish are included if you'd rather not bring your own.
Comprehension questions are generated on-device from your own text, grounded in the passage only.
YOU VERSUS YOU
No leaderboard, no rank, no strangers. A dashed line shows where you were, and the solid bars show where you are.
A missed day is an empty dot. No countdown, no lives, no daily quota — you can stop whenever you want.
NO NETWORK, AT ALL
Not restricted, not encrypted — the network permission is never requested. What you read is sensitive, so it stays a thing only you know.
Everything is stored on your device and deleted with the app. Settings has “Export my data” if you want a copy, and “Delete everything” if you don't.
ONE-TIME PURCHASE
No subscription, no tiers, no in-app purchases. Improvements arrive as free updates.
Download on the App StoreNo. Most adults read 200–250 wpm; with regular practice 350–500 wpm at the same comprehension is realistic. Anything past that depends on the text.
The gains that survive testing come from fewer regressions, fewer fixations, chunking and automatic word recognition. Readglide trains those and measures the result.
There isn't one. The app has no network permission, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing to sync.
An iPhone on iOS 26. On-device question generation needs Apple Intelligence; without it you get the self-assessment flow and the pre-written questions.
