1. The short version
Readglide collects nothing. The app has no network access — the permission is not requested at all, so nothing you read, import or measure can leave your iPhone. There is no account, no server, no analytics and no advertising.
2. What the app stores
Everything Readglide remembers lives in the app’s own storage on your iPhone:
- Your measurements. Reading speed, comprehension percentage and the effective reading rate derived from them.
- Your training history. Which drills you did, for how long, and the scores.
- Your skill ratings and streak.
- Texts you added. Anything you paste, import as a file, share into the app, or capture with the camera — stored as text.
- Your reading preferences. Font size, line height, column width, theme and target speed.
All of it is deleted when you delete the app.
3. Camera
Readglide asks for camera access only if you choose to capture a page of a book. The image is turned into text on your device using frameworks Apple ships with iOS, and the photo itself is not saved — only the recognised text is kept. The app never opens the camera on its own.
4. Sharing a page into the app
When you share a web page or a passage into Readglide from another app, the text is handed to Readglide by iOS and stored on your device like any other text you added. Readglide does not fetch the page itself and makes no request of its own.
5. On-device question generation
On devices that support Apple Intelligence, comprehension questions are generated from your text by Apple’s on-device model. The text does not leave your iPhone. On devices without it, Readglide falls back to a self-assessment where you write a short summary in your own words.
6. Exporting your data
Settings offers “Export my data”, which produces a JSON file containing your measurements, training history and the titles of your own texts. The file is handed to iOS’s share sheet and goes wherever you send it. Readglide does not upload it anywhere.
7. What we never collect
No identifiers, no device information, no usage statistics, no crash reports, no location, no contacts, no advertising ID. We cannot see what you read, how fast you read it, or how often you open the app.
8. Third parties
The only third party involved is Apple, which processes your App Store purchase. We never see your payment details. No analytics, advertising or tracking SDK is included in the app.
9. Texts you import
You are responsible for having the right to use any text you bring into the app. Readglide stores it for you and does nothing else with it.
10. Deleting your data
Settings has “Delete everything”, which removes your measurements, training history, streak and your own texts. The passages that ship with the app remain, because they are not your data. Deleting the app removes everything either way.
11. Children
Readglide is a reading trainer and requires no personal information to function. It collects no data from users of any age.
